Kalandar 2019

Kalandar Project an initiative aimed at creating a long-standing artwork inspired and informed by the residents of East Nowra. The project was in collaboration with @shoalhavencitycouncil and @mission_aust and was organised by @verbsyndicate.

This Artwork captures the pride of the community. Placing an unidentified silhouette embodied with historical housing built to house Naval personal after WWII and features the native Black Cockatoo (a first nations word pronounced Nowa Nowa) a bold and powerful iconic bird. This piece questions the role of place and community in developing individual identity.
